It's been a while since I've seen a positive image in health promotion of Aboriginal males. For the most part we are either portrayed as needing fixing, or our behaviours need changing. We are more often than not told that we don't engage in the health system. In my opinion, I don't believe the health system caters to Aboriginal males and the exclusion of positive imagery in the waiting rooms of health services acts as a barrier. Below I have mocked up some posters that I believe are positive, speak to a strengths base and are empowering. *images have been sourced from the internet.
